About Me:
Hi! I'm Justice
I am a Graphic Designer and Illustrator. Art has always been my passion, but I didn’t always think it was something I could do professionally. I got my bachelor's degree from UW-Madison in 2020, double majoring in Legal Studies and Sociology. At the time, I was interested in the legal field, so I went all in with that.
After graduating during COVID, I worked as an elementary substitute teacher before getting a job in the governor's office as a legal assistant. I primarily worked on the pardons process, which was incredibly inspiring and gave me so much hope in the power of rehabilitation and people’s ability to build successful lives for themselves. But as someone with a lot of empathy, the job was also emotionally draining. While I got to see the amazing things people had created for themselves, I also had to learn about the hardest parts of their lives that led them there.
After about a year, I realized I needed a change. I thought long and hard about what my dream job would look like and feel like. When I thought about doing art, it felt life-giving. That is what led me to graphic design. Since I had only worked with traditional art mediums before, working digitally took some getting used to. But after my first year in the program, I saw my passion for art translate into a passion for design. I love creating designs that make you feel something. I also love combining traditional art with digital design. I will take any chance I get to paint a background or illustrate for a design piece.
Outside of art and design, I am passionate about my pets. My husband and I have three dogs, all two years or younger, and two guinea pigs. Funny enough, I did not realize I was allergic to guinea pigs until after we got them, but we loved them too much to part with them. So now, I am also passionate about Zyrtec.
